When you fill out a form on our Site, sign up for our emails, or otherwise contact us, we collect contact and business information, such as your first and last name, business name, website, address, phone number, email address, your message, and any other information you choose to provide.

When you visit the Site, we and our third-party partners automatically collect usage data through cookies and similar technologies, such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages visited, time spent on pages, referral source, and cookie or advertising identifiers.
Sensitive Data
We do not knowingly collect sensitive data (such as genetic or biometric data, precise geolocation, health information, or data revealing racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or immigration status). We do not sell sensitive data, and we ask that you not include sensitive data in messages you send us.

Meta Pixel — advertising and retargeting on Facebook and Instagram

Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control: Our Site does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals. You can exercise your opt-out choices using the methods described on our Your Privacy Choices page.
4. How We Share Information
We share personal information with categories of service providers and partners that help us operate our business, such as:
Website hosting and forms: Squarespace (hosts the Site and processes form submissions)
Automation and CRM platforms: Zapier and GoHighLevel (route and store form submissions and manage client communications)
Advertising and analytics partners: Google, Meta, and TikTok (as described in Section 3)
AI-assisted analysis and automation tools: such as Anthropic's Claude and AI features within our CRM platform (GoHighLevel), used to help us review and respond to inquiries
Email marketing provider: the platform we use to send newsletters and marketing emails
We may also disclose personal information when required by law (for example, in response to a subpoena or other legal process), to protect our rights, property, or safety or that of others, or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal data in exchange for money. However, our use of advertising pixels may be considered "sharing" or "selling" under some state privacy laws. You may opt out as described in Section 3 and Section 5.
5. Your Privacy Rights
We extend the following rights to all visitors of our Site, regardless of the state you live in. This includes, without limitation, residents of Maryland and other states with comprehensive privacy laws; the rights below apply equally to Maryland residents under the Maryland Online Data Privacy Act (MODPA).
Right to Know / Access — request confirmation of whether we process your personal data and receive a copy of it
Right to Correct — request that we fix inaccurate personal data
Right to Delete — request that we delete personal data we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions
Right to Opt Out — opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal data and of targeted advertising
Right to Limit — request that we limit the use and disclosure of your personal data
Right to Non-Discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights
How to Exercise Your Rights
Email us at matthew@northtrailwebdesign.com with your request. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling it, and we will respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we may extend our response period by an additional 45 days and will notify you of the extension. You may also designate an authorized agent to submit an opt-out request on your behalf.
You may make one free data request every 12 months. More frequent requests may be subject to a reasonable administrative fee, which we will tell you about before proceeding.

Appeals
If we decline to act on your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision email with the subject line "Privacy Appeal." We will respond to your appeal within 60 days. If your appeal is denied and you are a Maryland resident, you may contact the Maryland Office of the Attorney General.

6. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy — generally for the duration of our business relationship with you and a reasonable period afterward — after which we delete or anonymize it. We may retain certain information longer where required by law.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If we make material changes, we will provide a more prominent notice.
